Kids aged 5-7 start with AFL Auskick. This is the best way to introduce kids to the great game of AFL. It’s all about fun, getting hands on the ball and constantly being involved in exciting activities. It’s non-contact and offers an inclusive environment for everyone aged 5-8 at any skill level to play.

Upon signing up, every little Auskicker receives money-can't-buy goodies including a unique pack of exclusive footy gear, an Auskick Junior Club Membership for the AFL club of their choice (including access to games!), and the chance to play during halftime on AFL and AFLW games. What an experience!

For kids aged 8 and above, Junior footy teaches players a range of skills that are easily transferred to other sports.  The rules of the game are modified for tackling, smaller ground size and a smaller ball so players can continue to develop their skills in an enjoyable, safe atmosphere.

• Players use all skills involved in kicking, catching, and running

• Kids gain valuable experience playing in a team-based sport

• There are modified rules for juniors that teach skills and are safe and fair

• All players play in all positions (up to u10s) regardless of ability and experience

Youth AFL caters to teenage boys and girls aged from 13 to 17 giving them the chance to play with their friends and form new friendships at all levels of experience and skills. As they progress from Auskick or Junior Football, it provides players with the opportunity to play in a graded competition suitable to their ability within a local community club environment.

Girls only teams are available from the U13 age group upwards. Focused on fun, fitness and friendship the teams provide a great opportunity for female players to develop the skills of the game.
